From the Moment She Spotted that Small Stretch of Beach, Gail Siegel knew She Found Her Piece of Paradise

“Stop the car,” shouted Gail Siegel as she caught a brief glimpse of the beach along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. She knew the eastern shore well, but had never really explored all of the western side of the bay before. But from the moment Gail saw the beautiful sandy beach and vibrant waters, she knew she had found something special. Within a week, she was buying a beach cottage built in 1939. Before long, Gail was packing up everything she had from Northern Virginia and moving here for good.

Making the Most of Life

Gail followed her dream and found her place right here in Calvert County. For her, this is the perfect setting to make the most of life. Whether she’s fishing, kayaking, boating, beachcombing or simply watching the sunrise over the bay, Gail is passionate about being on the water. Her other favorite hobbies include golf and art. Every September you can find Gail at the Annmarie Garden ArtsFest and she is always perusing local antique stores and flea markets for new décor for her beachfront cottage. She is also highly involved as a member of several Boards of Directors for various community organizations.

A Strengthened Bond

One of Gail’s most trying experiences on the western shore was in 2003, when Hurricane Isabel destroyed her beloved home beyond repair. Yet, she was determined not to give up on her dream and rebuilt the cottage from the ground up. Through the process, Gail not only learned just about everything there is to know about waterfront construction—critical area permits, flood compliance, insurance, zoning regulations—but she learned just how much she loved the lifestyle she’d discovered here. “The funny thing is that this experience only strengthened my passion for this place,” she says. “There’s nowhere else I’d rather live, work and play.”

Proven Experience

With such a strong connection to this lifestyle, it’s easy to see how Gail has become one of Calvert County’s premier real estate professionals. Whether she’s guiding someone in buying or selling a primary residence, vacation home or investment property, she finds great reward in helping others find their place here. To do this, Gail draws from her extensive business background, her vast knowledge of construction and her intimate knowledge of the local real estate market. For 20 years, she worked in the booming technology industry of the ’80s and ’90s, ultimately working her way up to head of eastern regional sales for several top software companies. Gail’s business savvy, attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills give her real estate clients a distinct advantage.
